After a race, finding yourself means scrolling through thousands of photos.
Approach
An async pipeline from S3 to SQS, Lambda, and Step Functions runs bib detection and face indexing in parallel. One selfie finds your photos.
What I built
- Parallel Step Functions states run bib detection and face indexing at once, halving analysis time
- A DynamoDB single-table design with GSIs answers bib search and photographer filters in one request
- The whole AWS footprint is managed as code with CDK
- Physical print commerce is live, including compositing race results onto the photo
- Validated first as SnapRace in the US, then redesigned for Korea as Snapxel
